Drontal Feline - Dewormer for Cats and Kittens

Drontal (praziquantel and pyrantel pamoate) is a broad spectrum effiective dewormer for cats and kittens.  Drontal Feline tablets will remove tapeworms, hookworms, and large roundworms in cats and kittens.  Drontal Feline is a tablet formulation of three distinctly different proven drugs offering an effective treatment for cat worming. Parasites such as tapeworms and large roundworms can be transmitted to cats after they eat infected rodents.

Tapeworms

Cats become infected with tapeworms after eating fleas orsmall mammals (rabbits, mice) which may be infected with tapeworm larvae.  

Tapeworms are flat and actually got their name from their shape, and their resemblance to pieces of tape. Tapeworms transmitted by fleas will likely reoccur unless measures are taken to control fleas.Tapeworms seldom cause much real trouble beyond mild diarrhea and some rectal itching. Presence of tapeworms is indicated by the observance of tapeworm segments passed in the cat's feces.

Hookworms

Hookworms are small whitish or reddish-brown worms less than one inch in length that live in the intestinal tract and feed on blood. 

Cats can become infected with hookworms by swallowing infected larvae whilst grooming or when larvae from their environment burrow through the skin. Cats infected with hookworms may have poor physical condition, dull hair coat, and reduced body weight and diarrhea, sometimes with the presence of dark blood.

Hookworms are bloodsuckers, and if there are enough of them they can cause severe anemia (deficiency of red blood cells) and even death.

Treatment of Parasites in Cats and Kittens
